1949 Cadillac Coupe de
Ville This distinguished print series sports Cadillac's Commemorative 50th Anniversary
Emblem.
This automobile is considered to be one of the
finest in the world. The scene depicts the Cadillac in
a stately position of honor.
This automotive art original painting is opaque
watercolor (gouache). The title "The Featured Marque"
is in reference to the elegant collector automobiles that are
features at the various concours around the country. The post
war Cadillac's were certainly among the worlds' elegant automobiles
and were design trendsetters as well, not to mention great subjects
for collector car art.
The painting showcases the first Coupe de Ville
with its magnificent display of chrome. The 1949 Cadillac is
still owned by a surprising number people. I find owners at
various automobile venues around the country and Canada as well.
The painting presents a simple, yet elegant statement of quality
and a stately manner. Automobiles such as Cadillac, Buick and
Oldsmobile presented the chrome adorned front ends as their
signatures. I chose to paint the front view simply because it
portrayed the automobile in its best light. |
