Ford GT40 and Cobra Daytona Coupe
Each print is personally signed by Carroll Shelby.
The Ford GT-40 and Shelby Cobra Daytona were
the pinnacle of American racing on the international scene in
the 60's. The scene is Watkins Glen - 01 and the race was the
Governor's Cup, which featured all Shelby products. The race
is part of the annual Vintage Race Car Association historic
race week. The GT-40 #5 car and the Shelby Cobra Daytona #9
car were the first and second place finishers. Historically,
the #5 car took third place in the 1966 LeMans race and the
Daytona #9 was the world-class champion for 1966. The original
automotive art painting is opaque watercolor (gouache) and is
signed by Carroll Shelby and Lee Holman. The extraordinary aspect
to this painting is that both cars are alive and well. They
are valued well into the millions of dollars and contain historical
significance.
